At age 15, I went on a Mission trip to South America. We started building a new orphanage to replace an existing special needs orphanage. During that trip I wrote a letter to God about wanting to be a mom to many. Over the years, God definitely answered. I have been involved with caring for so many kids that I have called "my kids." From relative and friends children, to working in teen residential centers and children's residential psychiatric units, to tutoring, fostering, and adopting.

My oldest daughter was deemed unadoptable due to behavior issues. I knew she needed a stable home, so I fought to adopt her and succeeded. She was 10 years old at the time. She has blossomed into an amazing person and now a mother. I was also blessed at age 40 to become pregnant through IVF, fulfilling my life long dream of carrying a child. My son was born in 2020 . A year later, I also conceived my daughter who was born in 2022.

We were told my son was blind at 2 month old. As he grew, we discovered he had some sight, but remained legally blind and the condition is degenerative. He was diagnosed Autistic just before his baby sister. In 2024, my daughter was also diagnosed Autistic and non verbal. Both are extremely smart and determined children that love to learn at their pace.

I graduate from WGU with my BA in Special and Elementary Education in July of 2025. I started out determined to meet my kids needs and learn everything I needed to support them. As I have gone through my classes, I have seen the flaws in the education system. My vision for their educational future and for Vibrant Minds developed. That vision has become my life purpose!
